Let The Journey Begin

Updated: Jan 16

You know those days when you can sense an electricity in the air? There is a feeling of excitement, like this is going to be a great day. You don’t know why, but you just know it. It brings a smile to your face, and you move with a bit more enthusiasm.

It was a day much like this when the most wonderful things would happen and, on this day, I was feeling it all the way through me. I had spent several years trying to build a business with my painting and although I had some successes, I had not been able to create an income stream that would support me.

I didn’t realize it at the time, but I had shifted my point of attraction on that day.

I began thinking, what did I enjoy as a child, what did I want to do for a living when I was young, and what brought me joy and enthusiasm in those days? I don’t know about you, but up until that day I had spent no time thinking about these questions previously.

Life is a journey, not a destination. We take it one step at a time.

Remembering that I used to love to write short

stories and poetry, even lyrics from time to time. I decided on that fateful day to spend it doing all the things I love. I worked in my gardens, I painted, and I began to write again.

I wrote a short poem about an encounter with a Willow tree that day. The beginning of a journey towards joy, happiness, and the unfoldment of dreams.

It might seem like a simple question, but what do you remember bringing you joy when you were young? What do you remember thinking about creating, or doing, or becoming?

I invite you to begin your own journey of unfoldment and enlightenment by spending a day recovering those thoughts and doing something that brings them into your present moment. Take a day and do those things you loved. Bring that joy back into your life and begin your journey.

Awakening and enlightenment are a process. One that you have some control of. The first step is to decide that something in your life must change. Then do something to change it.
