Balance in the Space Between

Updated: Jan 16, 2023

I know that if you have found your way here you are a seeker of truth. And like most of us seekers we can sometimes want something new from life and just do not know how to get from where we are to where we would like to be. Sometimes we feel stuck. Sometimes we feel like we have been doing everything that we know to do and still do not seem to be able to move from where we are to where we want to be. It can be very challenging, and frustrating. I love working with those who feel stuck and helping them move into the vision they hold of who they would like to be, or what they would like to live next.

This is a process that we all go through each time we become more than we used to be. It is the process of change. Change can be as easy or as difficult as we believe it to be. Some change we find easy like switching a weekly meeting from Tuesdays to Thursdays. Some change we find might be more difficult like moving from one home to another in a far away city.

Then there are those changes that we struggle with. Like starting a new business or expanding a business into new territory. A change like this requires that we become a better version of ourselves and doing that can keep most people stuck. That could be why there are not more entrepreneurs!

Close your eyes and imagine who you are currently being, and who you want or need to be in future to have this new experience, whatever it might be. Now, imagine that to the left of you is the old version of yourself, and to the right of you is the new version of yourself.

Here you are in the current moment, neither who you once were, nor who you would like to be. You are in the in-between place. Each time you recognize you are not the person on the right say, “I’m closer than I was yesterday”.

Each time you recognize you are the person on the left, remind yourself that “that is who I used to be”. Acknowledge that is how you used to think, used to be, used to do things, etc. Say to yourself “I do not think that way anymore” or “I do not respond like that anymore” NOW I do it like this or that.

With each acknowledgement you move one step closer to who you want to be, doing what you want to be doing, and living a 2.0 version of you. Upgrade your life starting now!

Here are some tips to help you move from this place of stuckness...

  1. Create a clear vision of what you are wanting and imagine who you would need to be if you were living that vision.

  2. Recognize who you are being that does not fit into that vision.

  3. Notice when you are being that old version of yourself and say "that is who I used to be" and then respond, react, and behave how you would need to, to be in the new vision.
